For projects requiring layout and/or planting plans, I schedule a return visit after the initial meeting on site in order to measure, photograph in more detail, obtain soil samples, and observe and document existing conditions.
I am committed to designing landscapes and gardens that respond to the needs of the client and reflect their aspirations while respecting the natural ecology of their property. Throughout the design process, I develop options and suggest alternative solutions and am most interested in the clients' ideas. (In cases where the direction of design is clear to us both, developing alternative conceptual plans is not necessary.)
Based on our discussion about the alternative conceptual plans, a final plan is then drawn. The final Master Plan would typically include a report and may include layout and planting plans, details for installation, maintenance suggestions and schedule, estimated cost and suggestions of various landscape contractors.
Judith Reeve Landscape Design does not hire contractors. Landscape contractors work directly for the client. We do suggest, however, that for the best results, we oversee the installation of your project. We have worked successfully with many contractors over the years—those we've suggested and those that the client has found.
For "do-it-yourself" clients, we suggest plant and material sources, can give you sound information on installing and/or planting your plan and enjoy being around working with you to place plants and offer suggestions as you implement your plan.
Fees are based on time including travel depending on the distance. We present you with a proposal for agreed upon work design work before proceeding. |
